Press Release Body = Counterstrip has just announced a new easy to use dose counter to keep up with the doses of metered dose inhalers typically used for allergies, asthma, emphysema and COPD. The disposable strips use a \"scratch-off\" technique typically found on lottery tickets. Once a dose is taken, the patient scratches off the dose count and can tell at a glance, both the number of doses taken and the number of doses remaining. The Counterstrips are also color coded to maintain a total dose count for inhalers that exceed 100 doses. Medicated inhaler manufacturers typically do not provide a means of dose counting and it is left up to the individual to maintain the dose count through other means. The Counterstrip offers an excellent alternative since surveys reveal that most users guess their remaining doses and do not maintain a proper dose count. If doses are not counted, the patient cannot properly predict when a prescription refill is necessary and also, may use the inhaler beyond the guaranteed dosage and therefore, not receiving the proper combination of medications in the inhaler.
